Manhunt: Intro

My next few series of posts are going to be a way of keeping myself accountable in reading and studying my Bible, but also to educate myself in something that I believe has been distorted. I'm going to be studying what God's definition of a "man" is.

The world's view seems so messed up to me and at times, I'm not sure what a righteous man of God actually is. This will help me stay level headed and be the man that God wants me to be.

One thing that really made an impression upon me was when we touched on Saul and David in my Old Testament class. Look at these two men and tell me which is righteous. Both men were great warriors and great leaders of the nation of Israel. Look at the sin of these two men. Saul made stupid oaths about eating and he made a sacrifice that he was not qualified to give. David became proud at times but the sins he is known for was not going out for battle when he should have, coveting another man's wife, committing adultery, lying, contributing to another's drunkeness, premeditated murder, and probably another lie or two thrown in for good measure. However, David is remembered as a man after God's heart. Why? What is the difference between the reactions of Saul and David when confronted with their sins? I hope that didn't spoil your study.
